I have had several life changing conversations. I am thankful for the people who had the courage and/or the love to risk talking to me in a direct and helpful manner. Our world is full of words, but is suffering from a serious drought of meaning. I believe that guided conversations - like those with a spiritual director - create a safe place to talk our way into the future. While it is true that actions speak louder than words, it is also true that significant action that brings sustainable change is almost always the result of conversation and thinking about what actions are needful in our lives.
